Weekend Sweatshirts

For the moment menswear is embracing and supporting a more casual, relaxed style. The formal rule of dressing have changed . Joggers/Sweatpants are seen pair with blazers and sneakers are paired with suits, and where but the great thing about the relaxed look is that it still follows one rule, fit is always king. The latest crop of sweatshirt are coming tailored to the body with new unique details like zippers at the seams and quilted elbow and armbands designs. The weekends for me will usually call for a sweatshirt day especially during the fall, so I was pleased when I saw three sweatshirts waiting at my desk.

The first sweater featured comes from the Hawaiian surf brand, Lightning BoltThe Aloha Triblend Fleece Crewneck  leaves no mystery to wear the influence is from, but makes sense to know why the fabric is so very light in weight. Carrying a blend of viscose and polyester on the inside and cotton on the outside, the sweater is soft and extremely comfortable on. it is easy to layer over or under a garment without the fear of overheating. The Aloha crewneck does run big so if you are a standard medium size like myself, I strongly suggest sizing down for a more fitted and leaner look. I alway think of a casual college undergrad when I look at this sweater. Which is the reason I styled the above outfit this way. The Aloha Triblend Fleece Crewneck sweater has a very casual and easy-going kind of vibe to it perfect sleeping in or an afternoon stroll around your college campus. As a perk for my followers Aloha is offering 20% off your very own crew neck sweater by clicking here: Aloha20

The second sweater featured is by the San Francisco, CA, American Giant  brand The Made-in-America brand, has gained a lot of attention over the years by proclaiming to be the best sweatshirt ever made. A statement that seems arrogant at first but when you pay attention to what actually matters when making quality clothing such as: fabric, fit, construction, and durability you can make that statement. The American Giant brand does live up to the hype. The pre-shrunk Mens Heavyweight Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt managed to be a great fit right out of the box. The soft brushed interior was gentle on the body but their 13 oz. 100% cotton rib seemed substantial enough to stay warm and stand up against a game of football or intense everyday usage. I appreciated the subtle details the hooded such as the: reinforced elbow patches, custom metal zipper, grommets, and drawcord tips and the double-lined hood attracted me.The American Giant hoodie is very well constructed and is for the gentleman who is a fitness enthusiast or simply just doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty.

2(x)ist prides themselves on being the comfortable and affordable loungewear brand for men. The lux line recently released their “active” line and while most of their pieces you probably would not want to wear to the gym (just because they are so damn nice), you can find other uses for them. I find myself wearing this Terry Crew-Neck Sweatshirt often. I enjoyed the fit of the sweater and the minor details like the slightly larger rounded neck and triangle coverstitch detailing. You can go full bro-casual and wear this sweater with matching sweats or pair it with some camo joggers, fedora and a quilted jacket for a more put together casual attire.
